This is a non-tenure track, multi-year renewable appointment contingent on successful annual and cumulative performance appraisals as well as a majority affirmative vote of the academic unit. Summer appointments possible, but not guaranteed, contingent on demand for courses and availability of funding. This is a Professor of Practice position (Open rank) to begin in Spring 2025.

About The CollegeThe Jerry S. Rawls College of Business Administration is AACSB accredited and houses the School of Accounting that holds separate AACSB accreditation. The college offers the BBA degree with majors in accounting, energy commerce, finance, information technology, management, marketing, and supply chain management. Several formats of the MBA program are offered in fulltime, weekend, and online modalities in Lubbock, the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Houston, and San Antonio. The College offers MS degrees in accounting, data science, finance, and marketing research and analytics. A Ph.D. in business administration is offered with tracks in accounting, finance, management, management information systems, and marketing. Major/Essential FunctionsThe Area of Management in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, Professor of Practice (Open rank) to begin in fall 2025.
At Texas Tech University, the Professor of Practice title is used to recruit individuals with exceptional backgrounds and achievements in academic, business, government, or other professional practice. Primary responsibilities normally will be to teach in an area of expertise, mentor students in professional and career preparation, and liaise with professional contacts and entities on behalf of the department or program.

Faculty QualificationsIn line with TTU’s strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.
A master’s degree in human resource management or closely related field from an accredited institution.
Specific experience in teaching online and face-to-face courses at the master’s level in human resource management or closely related programs.
Preferred QualificationsIn addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:
A PhD or equivalent in human resource management or closely related field from an accredited university. Experience with People Analytics, Human Resource Information Systems, and other human resource management specialty areas is preferred. Extensive experience with online asynchronous instruction and/or design in human resource management master’s programs and scholarly or practitioner research or extensive practice in human resource management (broadly defined). All candidates shall maintain currency as scholarly academic or practice academic under the AASCB international standards.
