With Valentine’s Day coming up, it’s the perfect time to plan a fun Valentine’s Day bulletin board craft and other activities for your students. The kids really enjoy Valentine’s Day in the classroom because it’s a time for them to share things with their friends. This is an opportunity to show students they are loved, special, and included in our little classroom family. Here are some ways to do that.

Read A Book Celebrating Valentine’s Day

As always, we love to start our lessons and activities off with an amazing read aloud. There are some great Valentine’s Day books for kids out there but this is one of the best. Read the book, Bee Heartful: Spread Loving-Kindness by Frank Sileo.

If you aren’t able to purchase the book and don’t have your own copy, you can watch the video below with your class.

Valentine’s Day Craft

After finishing your story and having a fun discussion about Valentine’s Day, students can complete a Valentine’s Day Craft. The craft is simple and turns into a lovely February bulletin board.

All you have to do is print out a craft template for each child and take their picture ahead of time.

Then, students can color the bee and the little bow on the template.

Cut the bee body and bow out, attach the child’s smiling face and the bow and you’re all done! These cute little bees can be hung on a bulletin board to showcase their adorable faces. They will love seeing everyone up on the wall together.

This craft comes with 3 templates of various options. I like to use the one that incorporates their pictures because it adds more personalization to the activity.

Valentine’s Day Bulletin Board

Children are so visual, so I make it a point to re-create a fun bulletin board every opportunity I can. Their favorite kind seems to be one that shows THEM off. They get to see their classroom family up on the wall and know they are part of something special.

The bulletin board craft kit is simple and fun to use. You can set it up on your own, or let your students help you put it together. Click here to see what is included in the kit!

Once assembled, you can see how lovely of a display it makes for Valentine’s Day!
